General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Marcus Howlett Photography welcomes the introduction of GDPR in May 2018, and fully subscribes to the spirit & intention of the new legislation.
Marcus Howlett Photography has always taken all information security seriously including that of personal data regardless as to whether Marcus Howlett Photography is considered a processor or controller, under the current Data Protection Act, and the new GDPR regulations being introduced in May 2018.
In terms of the GDPR, Marcus Howlett Photography has been working towards being fully compliant throughout 2017 into 2018 to ensure that Marcus Howlett Photography customers can be certain they are dealing with a fully compliant GDPR business. The work will conclude prior to the May 2018 date for introduction of the regulation.
Marcus Howlett Photography operates full data security following recommended practises, not limited to data encryption and other methods of data security.
Marcus Howlett Photography fully supports the data rights of individuals.
Marcus Howlett Photography is committed to data confidentiality.
Marcus Howlett Photography regularly reviews data protection & security.
Marcus Howlett Photography is carrying out Privacy Impact Assessments as necessary.
Marcus Howlett Photography will provide additional information in due course to clients requesting further information.
Marcus Howlett Photography has been conducting initial assessments and has determined that Marcus Howlett Photography processes data in the following way.
1. Uses a subcontractor (data processor) in the form of this website.
2. A data processor of third party data.
3. A data controller or processor of data such as activity relating to direct marketing for school services, and customers, including photography & marketing services (website, signage & general marketing)
Marcus Howlett Photography is amending its activities & procedures as necessary to fully comply with GDPR following a thorough and ongoing assessment. My assessments are reviewed following updated GDPR guidance as required, so is an ongoing process.
Marcus Howlett Photography is following updates to the GDPR interpretation using the information provided by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), ensuring that most recent guidelines are followed.
